If you’ve ever wanted to change your Twitch Username, you can do so in just a few steps in the profile settings. *Please note that changing your Twitch username will also change your Twitch channel URL*

Firstly, go to the [Twitch.tv website](https://www.twitch.tv/), click your user icon in the top right corner, scroll down, and click settings.

Next, go to your profile settings and click the little pencil icon next to where it says “Username”.

Here is the fun part: you get to try to put your desired username in the textbox and see if it’s already been taken. If it has, no worries. You can keep trying variations until they work or come up with another name until it says they’re available. Once you have found your name, click “Update”, and it will update your username and URL automatically.

Bear in mind that you can only change your Twitch username every 60 days, so you will need to think carefully about how it will represent you. Your old Twitch name will remain locked for six months until other users can register it.
